The following recipe is for one person.
2 x England's Finest Sausages
1 x Sweet Ripe Tomato
Some Fresh Lettuce
A Thick Slice of Butter
Some Good Artisan Bread
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in thick bottomed frying pan over a medium heat. Lower the heat to gentle and add the sausages. Let the sausages color lightly for about 20 minutes, turning them every so often.
Meanwhile, slice the tomato and pull off a few crisp leaves from the lettuce. If you are feeling adventurous, you could cut up a fry a sweet bell pepper too.
Now I prefer wholegrain breads, but the only thing that really matters is that you use slices from a fresh loaf of quality bread... Artisan breads from your local grocery store are the best, Ciabatta or country French work really well.
Depending how ambitious you are feeling about taking on a huge sandwich, you may want to slice the cooked sausages in half along their length.
Now for the assembly. Lightly butter your bread, add the sausages, the tomato slices, lettuce and, if you want them, the peppers. If you like a little ketchup or wholegrain mustard, you can add some too... Enjoy!
