These are hands down the best sausages I have ever eaten!

The perfect... Sausage and Caramelized Onion Tart
This is a delicious meal that will get your guests talking! It also demonstrates how versatile England's Finest sausages really are.

The following recipe will serve 4 people.

Ingredients

8 x England's Finest Sausages

1 x 0.5 lb ready rolled puff pastry sheet (Defrosted)

Half of a medium sized onion

0.5 lb mushrooms

Slice of Butter

Carefully cut each sausage into 6 pieces. Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the cut-up sausages to the pan and push them around for a few minutes until they begin to brown. Lower the heat.

Slice the onions and add them to the frying pan. Wash and slice the mushrooms then add them to the frying pan once the onions have started to brown.

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Unwrap and unroll the puff pastry and place it on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Once the sausages, onions and mushrooms are cooked, spread them out over the puff pastry. Leave a gap of about 1 inch around the puff pastry so that the edges can rise while the tart is in the oven.

If you like you can add some grated cheese over the top of the tart and some sprigs of fresh thyme or rosemary too.

Once the oven is at temperature, place the tart in the middle of the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the pastry edge has risen and is golden brown.

Mash or fried potatoes, peas, salads, roasted vegetables all go well with this tart. We will leave you to choose your side dishes. We hope you enjoy this meal!
